Customer Engagement Manager / 

Beijing / This is an exciting opportunity to further develop our existing electronic license business with academic, governmental, and corporate institutions in China as member of an international team.

The portfolio includes our highly successful e-journals, e-books, and databases in Organic Chemistry.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Success - Onboard, enable, and train users and customers to get full value from our solutions, ensuring active usage.

  • Lead generation – Identify, engage, and develop relationships in the leading scientific institutions and work with internal teams to drive lead generation and awareness.

  • Sales – In close collaboration/partnering with our regional sales partner and the Sales Manager APAC in Germany, explore new opportunities as well as cross-sell and upsell potential with existing clients.

  • Communication – Provide product demos and assist with client meetings and negotiations.

  • Demand management – Develop an understanding of customer needs, pains & gains to help solve customer problems.

  • Network building - particularly with product champions in chemistry and medicine.

  • Business Development - In close collaboration / partnering with our regional sales partner and the Sales Manager APAC in Germany explore and develop untapped potential in related business fields such as Text and Data Mining (TDM), identify purchasing process and budget of the buying center.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in science-related fields, ideally Chemistry.

  • 2 or more years of BizDev-related experience including generating opportunities.

  • Experience in training and promoting science related products and a passion for digital solutions.

  • Awareness of needs of information professionals and knowledge of academic publishing markets.

  • Excellent organization, presentation, and communication skills.

  • Excellent networking skills.

  • Flexibility and ability to travel (25-30%).

  • Fluency in Mandarin and English.

  • Entrepreneurial spirit and self-starter attitude.
