Midterm Surgical Outcomes for ALCAPA Repair in Infants and Children

This paper reports mid-term results for 80 children after ALCAPA repair. Left ventricular recovery was found to be a progressive process, especially for infants with preoperatively impaired LV-function. Moreover, annuloplasty is considered to be safe and reliable in patients with significant mitral valve regurgitation.

Treatment of Pediatric Sternotomy Wound Complications: A Minimally Invasive Approach

Treatment of sternal wound infections may prove tedious, even in children. Here, a positive experience with single-use negative pressure wound therapy devices for an average duration of 16 days is reported.
